Primary School Enrollment (State/Private)

In Turkey, students are enrolled in state or private elementary schools based on their age.

State Schools: These are schools where your child is automatically registered by the state based on the area and neighborhood you live in. The official curriculum is applied. Generally, class sizes are larger.

Private Schools: These schools are not different from state schools in terms of course content. However, they are more preferable for students in terms of the opportunities they offer. Through extensive social activities, students can improve their existing skills.

High School Enrollment (Private/Public)

Studying in a high school abroad is important for your child to go through a successful learning process, be able to direct their future more easily, and become a responsible individual. Additionally, it supports them in developing themselves culturally.

For registration to state or private high schools in Turkey, an equivalence certificate is required. Based on the original report cards, transcripts, or diplomas from previous years, registration to schools is made according to the equivalence certificate given to students.

There are many alternatives for you and your child. With your equivalence certificate, you can choose the nearest state school or a private school that you like.

The fact that students graduating from high schools in Turkey have a Anatolian High School Diploma or Vocational High School Diploma is not important. However, the High School Diploma Grade and Diploma Type of foreign national students who have completed high school abroad - YÖS candidates - are important. You need to choose a high school based on these criteria.

State High Schools are schools where your child is automatically registered by the state according to the area and neighborhood you reside in. Official curricula are applied. Class sizes are generally larger. Registration requires an equivalence certificate.

Private Schools have no different course contents from state schools. However, they are more preferable for students in terms of the opportunities they provide. Through comprehensive social activities, students can advance their existing talents.

International Schools are schools where different country curricula are implemented and only foreign students are accepted in Turkey. There is no equivalence certificate requirement to be accepted to these schools, but you will need to obtain an equivalence certificate for university admission after graduating from high school. If you become a Turkish citizen after registration, you can only use your right to study in international schools until the end of the grade level. You will need to switch to a Turkish school at the next level. If you are already a Turkish citizen before registration, you cannot study in these schools.

Evening Schools

These are schools where anyone who is older and wishes to complete their education can enroll. Technically, these institutions offer the opportunity to attend classes after work hours for those who work during the day. It is possible to work and study at these institutions simultaneously.

Students who have not started or completed their high school education in their own country can attend Private Evening High Schools in our country and become high school graduates by fulfilling the conditions in the relevant regulations and obtaining an equivalence certificate.

MEB Equivelance

For private education institutions at the international primary and secondary education levels established by embassies and private institutions within Turkey, and for educational documents and diplomas obtained from domestic and foreign primary and secondary education institutions, equivalency procedures must be performed.

The equivalency process is carried out with the original documents of the applicant by the applicant, parent, or legal representative at the equivalency centers.

You can apply for our equivalency services by clicking here.
